Habitability
KWRM Law represents clients subjected to health and safety risks caused by the neglect of landlords. We specialize in representing vulnerable tenants; in particular, low-income tenants, seniors, and families with children. We also specialize in prosecuting landlords that take further adverse action against tenants after they request habitability repairs.
Tenants’ Rights Advocacy
KWRM Law provides consultation, pre-litigation, and negotiation services for residential tenants and small businesses. This includes: counseling and negotiating rent increases; rent board advocacy; demand letters; lease review and negotiation.
Eviction Defense
KWRM Law’s attorneys have collectively defended several hundreds of tenants in California unlawful detainer (eviction) litigation. We offer low-bono eviction defense representation for residential tenants and small businesses. We specialize in defending unlawful detainer lawsuits strategically to prepare subsequent litigation against the filing landlord.
Because KWRM Law is a small shop, we have limited capacity to offer full-scope unlawful detainer defense representation, and must be very deliberate in the cases we take. Therefore, we only offer full-scope representation for cases in the Bay Area. However, we also offer limited scope counseling, filing, and trial preparation services.
